Since baby arrived in June, I have been making stuff for him, this is the latest thing I made.

Itty Bitty booties
Made from pattern at
http://www.heatherbaileydesign.com/Booties.html using recycled and hand dyed blanket scraps.
I have been wanting to make this for sometime but, as my Indian readers would know, felt is not exactly easily available in India, and in the hot and humid climate of south India, neither is wool. I was lucky to lay my hands on this moth eaten old blanket at my aunt's place in Kannur. The label read 100% wool. I did a burn test just to be sure. Aunty let me have it and I dyed a piece of the blanket using some tea leaves and some instant coffee ;-). That's the darker fabric you see in the picture. I am holding on to even the tiniest scrap of the material I have. There are sooo many felt projects I have passed up, now I guess I can do some of them at least using this material I have :-)
