Onam Shopping 2010

Sigh!! I do love terracotta so so much. Onam is not much of a celebration in my home, but we always do a lot of shopping around this time. My mother's hometown Kannur is home to a vibrant hand loom industry and each year a hand loom fair is conducted in the town. Besides having endless varieties of bedsheets, shirting material, sarees and the like. sometimes there are stalls by terracotta vendors. Mom usually gets bedsheets from there and I stalk the terracotta corner. This is what I got this year. Forgive the really bad photo. I left my camera at Mom's place and had to make do with a phone camera. Also shown is the lamp I got from an old glasswares shop that was closing down. The thought of old shops that sell such beautiful wares close down makes me feel sad. Though I must say I loved, loved the fact that I got the lamp for 30 rupees :-)
