Baby dress embroidery

Like I said in the last post, making stuff for my baby is my latest pastime (when I do get time i.e). I received  as gifts a set of baby tops, light cotton ones ideal for the Indian summer. They were plain white and I decided they needed some sprucing up. I embroidered them in some baby friendly patterns. I also embroidered a plain blue tee shirt for him.

For the words I used chain stitch, and lazy daisy for the flowers. The stems were done in back stitch.

I appliqued the cup cake bottom, not too neatly I must say, and used back-stitch for the top part. I started at the bottom, did not pay much attention to what I was doing and hence the wonkiness, my son is not going to mind though ;-).The cherry was done in satin stitch. The words were done in chain stitch.

The car was also appliqued. My husband says that the wheels are too close to the car. Very little ground clearance for Indian roads he says :-).

The letters where done using  reverse applique technique.
